Our gyms have now safely re-opened

Our gyms have now re-opened

We’re pleased to say that our gyms have now re-opened. We have worked closely with our advisory body, UK Active, and a number of other gym chains to follow a safe re-opening framework set out for the leisure industry.

Update 13th October:

Due to Liverpool City region restrictions, JD Gyms Liverpool (Dale Street) JD Gyms Liverpool Edge Lane, JD Gyms Aintree and JD Gyms Widnes will be closed from Wednesday 14th October.  We will re-open as soon as the restrictions are lifted and we are able to do so.

Update 7th October:

Due to the restrictions imposed by the Scottish Government on the central belt, we have had to temporarily suspend our classes at JD Gyms Glasgow North and Glasgow South from 6pm on Friday 9th October.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused but we’ll be back up and running as soon as we are permitted. We expect this to be from Monday 26th October but will keep you updated.

We have now safely re-opened

We have:

  • Spaced out all of the gym kit to maintain social distancing
  • Installed a number of hand sanitiser gel dispensers around the gym for you to use
  • Created a number of cleaning stations around the gym, where you can use spray and blue roll to wipe down your equipment before and after use
  • Increased our cleaning frequency and staffing to ensure the gym is as clean as possible
  • Reduced class numbers to maintain social distancing and developed ‘re-opening’ timetables to get our classes going again
  • Installed floor markings to ensure people remember to keep their distance in high footfall areas
  • Placed banners and posters around the gym to remind people of the steps we need to take together to keep the gym safe
  • Set alerts on our entry systems to monitor the number of people in the gym at any one time
