REFER-A-FRIEND PRIZE DRAW TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Introduction
1.1. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to the JD Gyms Refer-a-Friend Prize Draw (“Prize Draw”).
1.2. By referring a non-member of JD Gyms (“Referred Friend”) under the Refer-a-Friend Scheme (the “Scheme”), members (“Referrers”) will automatically be entered into the Prize Draw subject to eligibility.
1.3. The Prize Draw is administered by JD Sports Gyms Limited of Edinburgh House, Hollinsbrook Way, Pilsworth, BL9 8RR.
2. Eligibility
2.1. The Prize Draw is open to active paying members (with any membership type) of JD Gyms at the date of the Prize Draw.
2.2. Referred Friends must be new customers who have not held a membership at any JD Gym within the 12 months preceding the start of their membership.
2.3. Employees, contractors, agents, and partners of JD Gyms or any member of the JD Sports Fashion Plc group of companies are excluded from entry to the prize draw as a Referrer. Referrers will be excluded entry to the prize draw if the Referred Friend is an Employee, contractors, agents, and partners of JD Gyms or any member of the JD Sports Fashion Plc group of companies.
2.4. To be entered into the Prize Draw, the Referrer must complete at least one valid referral under the Scheme.
3. How to Enter
3.1. Each valid referral equals one entry into the Prize Draw, subject to any exclusions or limitation in these terms.
3.2. A valid referral occurs when the Referred Friend signs up using the Referrer’s unique referral link or code and purchases a qualifying membership. The Referred Friend can sign-up to any form of membership and entry into the Prize Draw is activated once the first full Direct Debit membership payment is made. If the Referred Friend cancels their membership before the first payment, or otherwise fails to make the payment, the referral is not valid.
3.4. There is no alternative method of entry.
4. Prize
4.1. The Prize consists of a freeze of current membership fees at JD Gyms for the 12-months following the draw for Monthly Members and Fixed Members OR an additional 12-months membership at the expiry of their existing contracts for Annual Saver Members (“the Prize”). (Defined terms are as set out in the membership Terms and Conditions here)
4.2. The Prize covers the membership at the date of the draw only and it does not include any additional costs for a member to upgrade to Plus+ membership during the payment freeze. There is no cash alternative if a member moves from Plus+ to standard membership.
4.3. The Prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash or credit.
5. Prize Draw Process
5.1. Each individual JD Gyms site will run a Prize Draw for members registered only or primarily at that site. The number of eligible referrals for any month will be reviewed on the 1st day of the following month. If there have been at least 40 eligible referrals then there will be a Prize Draw. If there have been fewer than 40 eligible referrals in any month, the entries will roll-forward to the following month, until there are at least 40 eligible referrals in the draw.
5.2. The Prize Draw will take place on or shortly after the first Monday of the month, subject to clause 5.1.
5.3. One winner will be selected at random from all eligible referrals. The winner will be notified by telephone within 14 days of the draw.
5.4. If the winner cannot be contacted within 21 days, an alternative winner may be selected.
6. Restrictions & Verification
6.1. Referrers may not refer themselves.
6.2. Suspected misuse, fraud, or breach of the Scheme will invalidate entries. JD Gyms reserves the right to verify eligibility.
7. Data Protection
7.1. Personal data will be processed in accordance with JD Gyms’ Privacy Policy (https://www.jdgyms.co.uk/privacy-policy/) and UK data protection laws. The winner’s personal data will be used to notify and communicate with them in relation to the Prize, to administer the prize on its membership system and for JD Gyms to comply with its obligation to publish the name and county of residence of winners.
8. Changes and Cancellation
8.1. JD Gyms may amend or terminate the Prize Draw where necessary. Any changes will not affect entries already made before the change.
9. Liability
9.1. Except for liability that cannot legally be limited, JD Gyms is not responsible for any loss arising from participation.
10. Governing Law
10.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
