Benefits of using the Sauna

Taking some time to unwind in our saunas is a great way to relax and reduce stress, but it can also help with muscle recovery and cardiovascular health.

The high temperature increases circulation and this increased blood flow to your muscles can help speed up recovery after a workout, as well as reduce soreness the next day. Heat therapy can also improve joint movement and ease pain caused by arthritis.

Another great reason to use saunas is the cardiovascular benefit. Studies have found a correlation between regular sauna use and lower blood pressure, as well as decreased risk of cardiovascular disease. Great news!

Before you use the sauna, it’s important to ensure you are fit and well and ensure you are sufficiently hydrated. You already lose fluids during a workout, so if you’re heading to the sauna after sweating it out in the gym do be sure to keep on top of your water intake!

The saunas here at JD Gyms Luton are super spacious and located in our changing rooms, so they’re easy to find. They are electrically heated, providing consistent, dry heat.  We have separate saunas for both men and women, and you can use them whenever you like during the changing room opening hours!
